Mencius孟子
Mencius（孟子 Mèngzǐ) , also known by his birth name Meng Ke (孟轲 Mèngkē） or Ko, was born in the State of Zou (邹国Z ōuguó), now forming the territory of the county-level city of Zoucheng (邹城z ōuchéng) (originally Zouxian) ( 邹 县Z ōuxiàn ), Shandong province (山东省 Shāndōng Shěng) , only thirty kilometres (eighteen miles) south of Qufu (曲阜Q ūfù) , Confucius' birthplace.
